Erika A. Eddy
Erika believes that a person’s mental and emotional states have an effect on the physical body and vice versa. Because of that, she looks to all levels of a person for clues to help them reach their goals of wellness. She focuses on healing the whole person.
As a teenager, Erika was introduced to acupuncture and truly believes that it changed her life. She suffered from debilitating pain. It was through her work with an acupuncturist, that she was able to heal that pain and live a normal life. Because of that experience and many others since then, she maintains a strong belief in this work and feels incredibly grateful to be able to share it with others. She integrates the use of acupuncture, chinese herbal medicine, qi gong and nutritional therapy to aid in supporting the balance and wellness of every patient.
Her intention is to help patients realize their full potential of health and improve the quality of their lives on every level. She does so gently, with great compassion, understanding and respect. She believes that every person has the potential to heal and that sometimes all people need is some encouragement and support in the right direction.
As an undergraduate, Erika studied western sciences and health psychology. This supported her interests in health care and fascination with the human being, both mentally and physically. She has also studied craniosacral therapy, tai chi, reiki, and yoga.
Erika’s acupuncture studies were completed at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health and in Chinese Herbology in Shanghai, China at the Shuguang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. While in China, she was impressed to see first hand how seamlessly Oriental Medicine can be integrated with allopathic therapies and the great benefits that patients receive from such well-balanced care.
Erika is a graduate of Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA and holds a Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. She is nationally board certified by the NCCAOM as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine and currently holds an Acupuncture License in the State of Washington.
